You're right - it's not healthy, and it's not going to get any easier with the 12 months England have coming up.
Might also have something to do with the inevitable come-down after the Ashes, especially for someone as intense as Colly.
Having said all that, the break seems to have worked judging by Collingwood's innings tonight. 'Uninhibited' is the word that comes to mind.
