If the French noblesse had been capable of playing cricket with their peasants, their chateaux would never have been burnt. - G M Trevelyan

Well, well, well. What looked like the fevered imaginings of a lotus dreamer a few weeks ago, suddenly appears to be prescience worthy of Nostradamas. Got any tips for the World Cup?
Now England knows what to do for the next Ashes series in Australia - send the team over 3 months before the serious cricket starts!
In the interests of sportsmanship though, one must congratulate England on finally playing better cricket than Australia for a couple of matches - but they were the couple than counted.
But as a loyal Australian, I can only say this -
FIVE - NIL ASHES SERIES
FIVE - NIL ASHES SERIES
FIVE - NIL ASHES SERIES
FIVE - NIL ASHES SERIES
Mmmmm..... recognise this, posted just a few short days ago ?
But before the serious recriminations start, you need to take a deep breath and bear in mind that, since the test series ended in Sydney, and more pertinently since the departure of KP, this touring party has simply been going through the motions, waiting for the nightmare to end and counting down the days until they can get on the plane and fly home.
''C'mon chaps, there's one last bottle of Bollinger in the ice bucket before we catch the flight home; and don't orget to bring that trophy thing either.''
Oh, what a nightmare indeed! Well done England, that's the stuff.
Cheers,
Miles Down-Legside
