As a bowler, if I was half way through my run up, and some cocky batsman decided to switch from batting right handed to batting left handed as I was approaching the wicket, I reckon I'd totally lose my rhythm to such an extent that the ball would slip out of my hand during delivery and end up on a course heading straight for his head...
Just saying.
With that in mind:
ReplyDelete"Lee runs in to bowl to Pietersen..."
You can't bowl again in the innings after a deliberate beamer. And it'd be pretty obvious - it's not like bowlers let slip beamers when batsmen give themselves room or walk outside off or whatever.
ReplyDeleteI can't see KP trying it on with Brett Lee - can you?!
ReplyDeleteFair comment David - though Sreesanth got away with it... and from 18 yards too!!
Yeah, the umpires probably would give the benefit of the doubt to the bowler. Even on Lee's beamer to Razzaq.
ReplyDeleteI exhausted myself in my blog crying hoarse. This move was as obnoxious as KP's stance. But then this is life...I would prefer my kids to be bouncers, than bowlers.
